A thorough knowledge of the English language is a pre requisite to move ahead in today's globalized world. This underlying principle serves as a guiding light for the department to disseminate knowledge for all-round development of students; the department has 3 regular teachers:- Faculty Members - Experience in Years Dr. (Mrs) Naheed Siddiqui –M.A. Ph.D (HOD) 29 Yrs Mrs Urmila Dubey – M.A 29Yrs Mr. G.M. Mustafa - M.A 29 Yrs. Both English language and literature are taught at the UG level. English language is a part of the curriculum in the UG classes of all faculties since it is a compulsory paper in the foundation course. From the session 2022-23 PG classes have commenced on the self financing basis. Since the implementation of NEP-2020, students who have opted for English as a major or minor subject, are guided by the faculty members for their project work and assignments, viva –voce examination are conducted for UG regular and private students who have offered English as a major or minor subject. Guidance for term- papers and conduction of viva- voce for MA English Private Students is also a part of the departmental responsibilities; special efforts are made by the faculty members to develop the linguistic, communicative and competitive skills of the students. The opportunity before the department is an increasing number of students in English literature, and the challenge is to make them proficient in English. Our strength is our highly experienced faculty members who always do their best for the students.
