Department of Political Science started its journey from 1971 for UG and 1984 for PG courses as a unit to offer Bachelor’s and Master’s degree to the students. It soon acquired the status of a full-fledged department in 1984. The method of teaching adopted by the department is a blend of traditional classrooms and modern classrooms teaching with latest use of audio visual adds such as LCD projector, making power point presentations, documentary, screening etc. Faculties and students are active members of SVCG, NSS, Red Ribbon Club, Youth Club etc. Many students have contest for elections and have been serving for society. The departmental research is focused in the areas of Contemporary Political Theory, Indian Political Thought & Public Administrations etc.
